Pondering Pay Scales
Right now, I’m working 12 hour days, plus 8 hours on Saturday. It would be nice if I could make ends meet without working all this overtime.
Basically, if I stay where I’m at, I’m never going to see a significant pay increase, and I’ve been losing ground when it comes to cost of living increases. As long as I agree to work there, my employer feels these are acceptable terms, and any protest on my part could be considered insubordination.
Thankfully, there are other employers out there who actually have better pay and more opportunities for advancement. I’m currently in the interviewing process with one such company. With any luck, I’ll be able to submit my two week notice by the end of the month.
